(NO.4) TRAFFIC ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet have made on 13th August 2026 the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6 and 84 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.
In order to address concerns about speeding and improve general road safety in the Leicester Road/Durham Road N2 area, the general effect of the 20mph Speed Limit Order will be to introduce a maximum speed limit of 20mph in the streets or length of streets specified below:
• Hertford Road N2 – Entire length.
• Bedford Road N2 – Entire length.
• Huntingdon Road N2 – Entire length.
• Leicester Road N2 – Entire length.
• Lincoln Road N2 – Entire length.
• Durham Road N2 – Entire length.
As part of a variety of measures in the Leicester Road/Durham Road N2 area to deter obstructive parking, improve sightlines, improve traffic flow and general road safety, the general effect of the ‘Free’ Order will be to introduce new lengths of ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions by upgrading lengths of existing waiting restrictions operating 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday at the junction of Hertford Road N2 and Durham Road, at the junction of Bedford Road N2 and Durham Road, at the junction of Huntingdon Road N2 and Durham Road, at the junction Leicester Road N2 and Durham Road and at the junction of Lincoln Road and Durham Road N2.
Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on Tuesday 18th August 2026 and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Orders can be obtained, for a period of 6 weeks from the date on which this notice is published, by emailing parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk or by writing to the Design Team, Highways Section, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW.
Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or any regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
