Wiltshire - Multiple Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) Church Lane (Part), Melksham; from its property known as No.11 Church Lane to its junction with Old Dairy Court to enable Wessex Water to carry out installation of stop tap and associated works. Alternative route via Church Lane (unaffected length) – Forest Road – Sandridge Road – Church Lane (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 07 September 2026 and the closure will be required for 3 days. For further information please contact Wessex Water on 0345 6004600.

B) C270 (Part), Horningsham, Longbridge Deverill and Corsley; from its junction with Gentle Street to its junction with Longcombe Drive to enable air display event at Longleat Safari Park, closure of Heavens Gate access and road from 13:00 to 21:00 for ensuring public safety. Alternative route via C270 (unaffected length) – A362 – A36 – A350 – C54 – C281 – C270 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 11 September 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 13:00 and 21:00 until 13 September 2026. C) Top Lane (Part), Melksham Without; from its junction with Corsham Road to its junction with Whites Corner to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out ducting and associated works. Alternative route via Top Lane (unaffected length) – Middle Lane – B3353 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 07 September 2026 and the closure will be required for 5 days. D) B3107 (Part), Holt; from its junction with Gipsy Lane to its junction with Stillman Close to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out resurfacing and associated works. Alternative route via B3107 (unaffected length) – A350 – A361 – B3105 – B3107 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 07 September 2026 and the closure will be required weekday nights only between the hours of 19:00 and 23:59 until 16 September 2026. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

E) Polebarn Road (Part), Trowbridge; from its property known as No.16 Polebarn Road to its junction with McDonogh Court to enable Valletta Surfacing Limited to carry out permanent reinstatement of the wearing course. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 16 August 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 for 1 day. F) UC 925801, Keevil; from its junction with C233 to its junction with C218 to enable Openreach to carry out overrun and associated works. Alternative route via C218 – A361 – A350 – C233 and vice versa. This Order which previously came into operation on 24 June 2026 will now recommence on 19 August 2026 and the closure will be required for 1 day. G) Snowberry Lane (Part), Melksham; from its junction with Lavender Close to its junction with Saxifrage Bank to enable F J Morris Contracting Ltd to carry out construction of 2 new manholes in the carriageway and associated works. Alternative route via Snowberry Lane (unaffected length) – Eastern Way – Melksham Relief Road – Spa Road – Snowberry Lane (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order which previously came into operation on 12 May 2025 will now recommence on 17 August 2026 and the closure will be required until 30 August 2026. A) to E) will have a maximum duration of 18 months, Orders F) and G) has a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all users:

Footpath 66 (Part), Bradford on Avon; from its junction with McKeever Bridge to its junction with St Margarets Street to enable emergency repair and inspection of riverside wall following inspection. Alternative route via Footpath 66, Bradford on Avon (unaffected length) – St Margarets Street and vice versa. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This closure which follows an emergency notice will come into operation on 19 August 2026 and the closure will be required until 18 February 2027. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 6 months.
