TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), on Thursday, 13 August 2026 in respect of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3), (4) & (5). Furthermore, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (6), (7), (8), (9), (10) & (11).

(1) POTTERY LANE, STRENSALL

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Pottery Lane, Strensall between a location 80 metres east of the projected eastern boundary of the property known as Park House Farm and a location 40 metres west of the projected western boundary of the property known as Hill Crest (closed roads) during the period when telecoms works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 17 August 2026 and ending at 1800hrs on Wednesday, 19 August 2026 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will be closed between 0800hrs and 1800hrs each day of the works period. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period via Carr Lane, Moxby Road, Sheriff Hutton Road. Access for resident and emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the works period.

(2) BECKFIELD LANE, ACOMB

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Beckfield Lane, Acomb between its junctions with Wetherby Road and Lidgett Grove (closed roads) during the period when carriageway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 17 August 2026 and ending at 1700hrs on Sunday, 06 September 2026 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will be close between 0800hrs and 1700hrs each day of the works period. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period via Wetherby Road, The Green, York Road, Carr Lane, Boroughbridge Road. Access for resident and emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the works period.

(3) KENT STREET, YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Kent Street, York between its junction with Barbican Road and the projected western boundary of the Q-Park Barbican off street car park (closed roads) during the period when telecoms works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 17 August 2026 and ending at 1800hrs on Friday, 25 September 2026 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period via Barbican Road, Cemetery Road, Fulford Road, Fishergate, Fawcett Street, Paragon Street. A separate diversion route for HGV vehicles will also be signed. Access for resident and emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the works period.

(4) GLADSTONE STREET, YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Gladstone Street, York between its junction with Huntington Road and a point 13 metres east of said junction (closed roads) during the period when water mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0930hrs on Monday, 17 August 2026 and ending at 1530hrs on Monday, 17 August 2026 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period via Huntington Road, Dennison Street, Back Lane Between 40 to 64 Huntington Road from Gladstone Street to Dennison Street. Access for resident and emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the works period. Additionally, all ‘on-street’ parking places situated on the east side of Huntington Road between its junctions with Dennison Street and the projected north-western boundary of property No. 72 will be suspended during the works period. (5) RAWCLIFFE DRIVE, CLIFTON

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Rawcliffe Drive, Clifton (between its junctions with Rawcliffe Lane and The Garlands (closed roads) during the period when carriageway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 17 August 2026 and ending at 1700hrs on Tuesday, 18 August 2026 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will be closed between 0800hrs and 1700hrs each day of the works period. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period via Rawcliffe Lane, Green Lane, Water Lane, Clifton. Access for resident and emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the works period.

(6) MILL LANE, HEWORTH

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of carriageway on Mill Lane, Heworth between the junction with Heworth Green and East Parade (closed carriageway) during the period when water mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 24 August 2026 and ending at 1700hrs on Friday, 28 August 2026 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period via Heworth Green, Heworth Road, East Parade, Eboracum Way, Layerthorpe, Hawthorn Grove. Access for resident and emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the works period.

(7) FARMERS WAY, COPMANTHORPE

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Farmers Way, Copmanthorpe between its junctions with Wheelwright Close and Sawyers Crescent (closed roads) during the period when telecoms works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0930hrs on Monday, 24 August 2026 and ending at 1530hrs on Wednesday, 26 August 2026 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will be closed between 0930hrs and 1530hrs each day of the works period. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period via Farmers Way, Flaxman Croft. Access for resident and emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the works period.

(8) MARKHAM STREET, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Markham Street, York between its junction with Eldon Street and the projected eastern boundary of property No. 37 (closed roads) during the period when gas mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 24 August 2026 and ending at 1700hrs on Sunday, 30 August 2026 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will be closed between 0800hrs and 1700hrs each day of the works period. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period via Haxby Road, Lowther Street, Eldon Street. Additionally, the ‘ONE WAY’ direction of traffic flow in Markham Street are suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road. Additionally, all ‘on-street’ parking places situated on both sides of Markham Street (i) between its junction with Haxby Road and the projected north-western boundary of property No.3 and (ii) between the projected north-eastern boundaries of property No’s. 25 & 37 will be suspended during the works period. Access for resident and emergency vehicles can be arranged with traffic management operatives.

(9) MOOR LANE, BISHOPTHORPE

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Moor Lane, Bishopthorpe between its junction with Moor Lane Drive and the projected eastern boundary of property No. 4 (closed roads) during the period when telecoms works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0830hrs on Monday, 24 August 2026 and ending at 1600hrs on Wednesday, 26 August 2026 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will be closed between 0830hrs and 1600hrs each day of the works period. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will not be signed during the works period. Access for resident and emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the works period.

(10) ASHVILLE STREET, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Ashville Street, York between its junction with Huntington Road and the projected western boundary of property No. 40 (closed roads) during the period when water mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0930hrs on Wednesday, 26 August 2026 and ending at 1600hrs on Friday, 28 August 2026 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will be closed between 0930hrs and 1600hrs each day of the works period. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will not be signed during the works period. Access for resident and emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the works period.

(11) LANDING LANE, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Landing Lane, York between its junction with Water End and the entrance to the RSPCA (closed roads) during the period when water mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 24 August 2026 and ending at 1700hrs on Monday, 05 October 2026 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will not be signed during the works period. Access to the RSPCA and Yorkshire Water substation will be maintained throughout the works period and will be signed via the alternative south-west junction of Landing Lane from Water End. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the works period.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
