Kingston upon Thames - Parking Restrictions and New Zebra Crossing

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

1.   NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames propose to make the following Order the Kingston upon Thames (Parking, Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No.) Order 202 under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 (insofar as applicable) to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, and all other powers thereunto enabling.

2. The general effect of the Order would be to reduce certain lengths of waiting restrictions to accommodate a new Zebra Crossing as mentioned in item 4 below in Coombe Lane West, outside and opposite Nos. 50 to 60.

3. Copies of the proposed Order, of the Council’s Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order and draft map-based schedule showing the location and the effect of the proposals may be inspected from 13 August 2026 as follows:-

(a) online at https://consultation.appyway.com/kingston-upon-thames  selecting MapKing0132a – Coombe Lane West Zebra Crossing;

(b) Council libraries; or

(c) copies of the draft Order and draft map-based schedules can also be obtained by calling 020 8547 5000 (between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday).

Comments to the proposed Order can be submitted either electronically via the link provided in paragraph 3(a) above or in writing to the Traffic Order Team, Guildhall 2, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 1EU please quote ref MapKing0132a – Coombe Lane West Zebra Crossing. The consultation closes 3 September 2026.

1. FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames has approved under section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to provide a Zebra Crossing in Coombe Lane West outside and opposite Nos. 50 to 60. The overall length of the crossing and regulatory zig-zag markings will be 39.8 metres.

Associated zig-zag markings on which vehicles would be prohibited from stopping and overtaking at all times, would be placed on the carriageway either side of the Crossing, extending up to a maximum of 17.6 metres.
