What is happening?

REDCAR AND CLEVELAND BOROUGH COUNCIL

FOOTPATH NO 2 ESTON AND FOOTPATH NO 1 REDCAR (RAIL BRIDGE TO OLD STATION ROAD TEESDALE WAY/KING CHARLES III ENGLAND COAST PATH)
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY ORDER 2026

Not less than 7 days herefrom the Council intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order is necessary to prevent danger to the public from a large hole in the path caused by a burst pipe.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along Footpath 2 Eston and Footpath No 1 Redcar commencing at rail bridge Reference (GR) NZ 5228 2089 to the junction with Old Station Road at GR NZ 52672106.

The alternative route is to proceed over the rail bridge and join the footway along Dockside Road, at the roundabout turn south onto Old Station Road and rejoin the footpath.

The Order will come into operation on 24/8/26 and will remain in operation until such time as the works are complete or for a maximum period of 6 months, whichever is the earlier.
