CHANGE FROM ADVISORY OR PROVISION OF NEW DESIGNATED DISABLED PERSONS PARKING PLACES, AMENDMENT OF ADJACENT PARKING PLACES AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND REMOVAL OF DISABLED PARKING PLACES (BATCH 20) (T17(26))

The Waltham Forest (Parking Places, Loading Places and Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No. x) Order 202*

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the LBWF proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA).

2. The general effect of the Order would be:

(a) to provide a designated disabled persons parking place measuring 6.6 metres (m) in length (unless otherwise specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice) in each of the locations specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice, in most cases replacing either permit, other paid-for, or advisory disabled persons parking places, on the carriageway, footway or both;

(b) where any proposed designated disabled person’s parking place referred to in sub-paragraph (a) above is longer than the advisory disabled persons parking place it is replacing, or where there is no existing advisory disabled persons parking place in the proposed location, to shorten or remove any existing parking place or waiting restriction in that location by the length necessary to provide the disabled persons parking place; and

(c) to remove either advisory or formalised disabled person’s parking place in each of the locations specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice and either extend or create new permit parking space (if in a CPZ); or in certain cases extend adjacent waiting restrictions bordering such disabled parking space by the length necessary in place of the disabled persons parking bay, any such provision as stated.

[Note: If these proposals were to go ahead then it is intended that any proposal in a location referred to in this Notice that is within an experimental CPZ would not proceed until such time and under such circumstances as the provisions of the experimental Traffic Order for the CPZ in question were continued in force indefinitely by way of a permanent Traffic Order.]

3. FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council, under the same provisions of the RTRA referred to in paragraph 1 above, proposes to reinstate a disabled person’s parking place removed by order in error in Claude Road E10, outside Nos. 92 and 94.

4. A copy of the Order and the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order and plans showing the locations and effect of the Order can be inspected until the end of a period of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Order, on request by either emailing traffic.scheme@walthamforest.gov.uk, or visiting (*by appointment) the Highways, Low Hall, Argall Avenue E10 7AS during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive; or alternatively documents can be viewed online at: www.walthamforest.gov.uk/content/road-traffic-schemes-and-consultations

5. Any person desiring to object to the Order or to make any other representation should send a statement in writing of either their objection and the grounds thereof or of their representation to Traffic Orders, Engineering Design, Low Hall, Argall Avenue, London, E10 7AS or by emailing traffic.scheme@walthamforest.gov.uk quoting reference T17(26) – Formalisation of disabled persons parking places 2026 – Batch 20 by the end of a period of 21 days from the date on which this Notice is published. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
