BERT ABRAMS CLOSE AND BROADBURY ROAD, FILWOOD WARD – 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT AND WAITING ARRANGEMENTS – TRAFFIC ORDERS

The City Council of Bristol hereby gives NOTICE that on 13th August 2026 it made the following traffic orders to regulate vehicles in the newly constructed Bert Abrams Close residential development:-

1. The City Council of Bristol (Bert Abrams Close, Filwood Ward, City of Bristol) (De-Restriction) (20 Mph Speed Limit) Order 2026, the effect of which is to introduce a 20 mph speed limit in the entire lengths of Bert Abrams Close in place of the 30 mph speed limits (which was by virtue of built-up area restricted road status due to the presence of street lighting).

2. The City Council of Bristol (Various Roads, Leinster Avenue Area, Filwood Ward, City of Bristol) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Prohibition of Stopping) (Disabled Persons’ Parking Places) Order 2026, the effect of which is:-

(a) to introduce prohibition of waiting arrangements in Bert Abrams Close; and
(b) to revise prohibition of waiting arrangements in Broadbury Road.

The orders will come into operation on 17th August 2026 and copies thereof, together with plans and a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for making the orders may be inspected at the Citizen Service Point at 100 Temple Street, Bristol, BS1 6AG, between 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. on Monday to Friday.

Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in an order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
