NOTICE RE: s53 WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 THE DEFINITIVE MAP & STATEMENT OF PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY FOR GLOUCESTERSHIRE UPGRADING PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY CCO66 AND PUBLIC FOOTPATH CCO72 TO RESTRICTED BYWAY, COALEY PARISH
MODIFICATION ORDER 2026
The above Order made on 7 July 2026, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by upgrading to restricted byway, the following public rights of way in the Parish of Coaley.
Upgrade to restricted byway status, that section of Public Bridleway CCO66 in the parish of Coaley, which commences at its junction with county highway 51406 at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference ("OSGR") SO 7906/ 0103 and runs in a generally southerly direction for approximately 612 metres to OSGR SO 7914/ 0043. Also upgrade to restricted byway status the whole length of public footpath CCO72 in the parish of Coaley, which commences at OSGR SO 7914/ 0043 and runs in a generally west south-westerly direction for approximately 353 metres to OSGR SO 7881/0035 at its junction with county highway 51407. A copy of the order and plan may be seen free of charge during normal office hours at Gloucestershire County Council, Shire Hall, Westgate Street, Gloucester GL1 2TG and Stroud District Council, Ebley Mill, Ebley Wharf, Stroud, Gloucestershire, GL5 4UB. Copies of the order and plan may be obtained free of charge by emailing modificationorders@gloucestershire.gov.uk (please quote reference 573/11/56(2). Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to the Highway Records & DMMO Team Leader, Gloucestershire County Council, Shire Hall, Westgate Street, Gloucester, GL1 2TH or by email to modificationorders@gloucestershire.gov.uk not later than 24 September 2026. Please state the grounds on which they are made. (Please quote reference 573/11/56(2).
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Gloucestershire County Council instead of submitting the order to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs may confirm the order If the order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it. TEMPORARY CLOSURE C290 CHASE LANE, WICKWAR (WOTTON UNDER EDGE TOWN) STROUD DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C290 Chase Lane, Wickwar from its junction with Mountenery's Lane to the county boundary for a distance of approximately 290 metres. The reason for the closure is for highway gully works.
The said road is expected to be closed from 1st September 2026 until 4th September 2026. However, if the said works are not completed by this date the Order may remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE C227 CHURCHEND (SLIMBRIDGE PARISH) STROUD DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority intend to make an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C227 Churchend from its junction with Lancelot Court to outside the properties known as 'Blacksmith Cottages' for a distance of approximately 135 metres. The reason for the closure is for water connection works on behalf of Severn Trent Water.
The road is expected to be closed from 2nd September 2026 until 4th September 2026. However, if the said works are not completed by this date the Order may remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.
