NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has recently made a permanent Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to enact formalised parking bays in Loose Lane in Sompting. The Order also prohibits waiting at any time throughout the remaining lengths of Loose Lane. Consultation on this proposal was originally advertised on 22 August 2024.
A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 17 August 2026, together with plans showing the affected lengths of road may be viewed on the WSCC website. People without access to a computer who wish to view details of the scheme should telephone the WSCC Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive the documents by post.
Any person who wishes to question the validity of this Order, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from 13 August 2026, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
