What is happening?

DERBY CITY COUNCIL

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS

Derby City Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit use of the roads by traffic.

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON
ACORN WAY, DERBY
WHEN: 24 August 2026 to 29 August 2026 (20.00 to 05.30) WHERE: Full Closure 25 to 27 August (20.00 to 05.30) Southbound one-way outbound closure 24 to 29 August (20.00 to 05.30) Acorn Way, at its junction with Derby Road Roundabout – for a distance of approximately 60 metres. REASON: Install Telecom Pole and associated works ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Full Closure: Acorn Way – Morley Road – Chaddesden Lane – Nottingham Road – Derby Road (and the same in the opposite direction Southbound one-way: Morley Road – Chaddesden Lane – Nottingham Road – Derby Road.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF NO WAITING AT ANY TIME
ORDER ON COTTON LANE, DERBY
WHEN: 17 August 2026 to 17 February 2028 WHERE: Cotton Lane, on the north-western side of the carriageway, from a point adjacent to the frontage of No 109 to No 112. REASON: To maintain safe access for Fire and Rescue Service vehicles in an emergency response. ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: N/A.

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON
FRANCHISE STREET, DERBY
WHEN: 26 August 2026 to 28 August 2026 WHERE: Franchise Street, at its junction with Upper Boundary Road. REASON: Telecom works ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Franchise Street – Peet Street – Uttoxeter New Road – Upper Boundary Road (and the same in the opposite direction).
