Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Buckland Newton

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Various Roads, Buckland Newton as listed: [i] B3143, Buckland Newton from junction with Stevens Walk to junction with Lydden Meadow; [ii] Unnamed Road, Buckland Newton from junction with B3143 to outside Church of The Holy Rood; [iii] Unnamed Road, Buckland Newton from outside Stickywicket to outside Fir Trees; [v] Cranes Meadow, Buckland Newton in its entirety; [vi] The Cross, Buckland Newton from junction with B3143 to a point 100 metres to the east. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 28 August 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 4 September 2026.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works. Locally signed diversion routes will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Public Footpath Se27/3, Winfrith Newburgh

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along Footpath SE27/3, Winfrith Newburgh, from junction with Blacknoll Lane to grid reference SY8082286780, a distance of approximately 780 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 1 September 2026 for a period of 26 weeks, but it may be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.

This closure is required to facilitate Wessex Water to replace a Water main.

Temporary Traffic Management Order of Granville Road, Weymouth

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 7 September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 10 October 2026.

This Order will enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution, safe access to facilitate electricity works.

The effect of this Order will be:

[1] To impose temporary clearway on Granville Road for its entirety to prevent vehicles from stopping, except those associated with the works.

Temporary Closure of Winters Lane, Waddon

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along WINTERS LANE, WADDON between its junction with Cheese Lane and Waddon House, a distance of approximately 965 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 01 September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 11 September 2026.

This Order will enable Wessex Internet to carry out fibre cable installation and splicing.

An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; Friar Waddon Lane - B3159 - Nottington Lane - B3157.
