Temporary Closure of Back Lane, Sturminster Marshall

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along Back Lane, Sturminster Marshall at its northernmost junction with Church Street. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 7 September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 18 September 2026.

This Order will enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out trenching works to provide a new supply.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.

Temporary Traffic Management Order, Various Roads, Wimborne Minster

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 7 September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 16 September 2026.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.

The effect of this Order is as follows:

[i] To impose a temporary road closure on Barnes Crescent, Wimborne Minster; Churchill Road, Wimborne Minster; Gordon Road, Wimborne Minster; Hardy Crescent, Wimborne Minster and Livingstone Road, Wimborne Minster as indicated by signs on site.

[ii] To impose a clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along Barnes Crescent, Wimborne Minster; Churchill Road, Wimborne Minster; Gordon Road, Wimborne Minster; Hardy Crescent, Wimborne Minster and Livingstone Road, Wimborne Minster.

Temporary Closure of Public Bridleway E54/9, Verwood

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians, horse riders and cyclists will be prohibited from proceeding along Bridleway E54/9, Verwood from grid reference SU 10072 08971 to grid reference SU 10921 08891, a distance of approximately 850 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 22 August 2026 for a period of 26 weeks, however it is anticipated the works will be complete by 3 October 2026.

This Order is required to allow National Grid to carry out essential works to their power lines.

There is no suitable alternative route within the Rights of Way network on this occasion.

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians, horse riders and cyclists will be prohibited from proceeding along Footpath E54/10, from grid reference SU 10201 07878 to grid reference SU 10292 07978, a distance of approximately 130 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 22 August 2026 for a period of 26 weeks, however it is anticipated the works will be complete by 3 October 2026.

This Order is required to allow National Grid to carry out essential works to their power lines.
