What is happening?
THE PORTSMOUTH CITY COUNCIL
(SULTAN ROAD) (PARKING PLACES, LOADING BAYS AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2025
1. Notice is hereby given that the Portsmouth City Council made the above Order on 13 August 2026. The effect of the Order will be:
a. To introduce a loading only bay operating at all times in Sultan Road, north side, from a point 7 metres west of its junction with Kingston Road for a distance of 14 metres in a westerly direction
b. To introduce "parking limited to 1 hour, no return within 1 hour, 8am-6pm", Monday to Saturday in Sultan Road, south side from a point 7 metres west of its junction with Kingston Road for a distance of 15 metres in a westerly direction (in place of "parking limited to 30 minutes, no return within 1 hour, 8am-6pm")
2. Copies of the, made Order, Statement of Reasons and Map are available to view on Portsmouth City Council’s website: Search 'Traffic Regulation Orders 2026’ at
Alternatively, they can be viewed at the Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, PO1 2AL, Monday to Friday between 9am - 4pm. Printed copies can be obtained by calling 023 9260 6480.
3. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant enabling Act, or that a requirement of any such enabling Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks from the date of the Order, make application for this purpose to the High Court.
4. This Order comes into operation on 21 August 2026.
