What is happening?
SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S - PUBLIC NOTICES OF INTENTION
NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“the Council”) intend, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of road/s as stated below. The Order/s for restriction is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exceptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below. It is intended that the proposed restriction/s will come into force on the 24th August 2026 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works which it is proposed to be carried out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is expected the Order will only be operative for the duration as stated in below.

Sham Lane, Alveley on 24th August 2026 for 5 days for Utility Streetworks
Hall Bank, Pontesbury on 24th August 2026 for 12 days for Highways Roadworks including the suspension of the one way system from the Coop junction in an easterly direction to the junction of Main Road for the duration of the works
Brookside, Pontesbury on 24th August 2026 for 12 days for Highways Roadworks including the installation of a temporary one way system from the junction of the A488 Minsterley Road in an easterly direction via Stallion Lane and Chapel Street to the junction of the A488 Main Road
Stanley Lane, Shrewsbury on 27th August 2026 for 3 days for Highways Roadworks
