What is happening?
THE PORTSMOUTH CITY COUNCIL
(KINGSTON ROAD) (BUS LANE AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2025
1. Notice is hereby given that the Portsmouth City Council made the above Order on 13 August 2026.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce:
a. A part-time bus lane (buses, cycles and taxis only) operating 7am to 10am and 4pm to 7pm, Monday to Friday southbound in A2047 Kingston Road, east side from Binsteed Road to Hanway Road.
b. "No waiting at any time" restrictions (double yellow lines) in place of the parking places on A2047 Kingston Road / Fratton Road, east side, from its junction with Binsteed Road to Hale Court, Fratton Road.
2. Copies of the Notices, made Order, Statement of Reasons and Map are available to view on Portsmouth City Council’s website: Search 'Traffic Regulation Orders 2026’ at
Alternatively, they can be viewed at the Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, PO1 2AL, Monday to Friday between 9am - 4pm. Printed copies can be obtained by calling 023 9260 6480.
3. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant enabling Act, or that a requirement of any such enabling Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks from the date of the Order, make application for this purpose to the High Court.
4. This Order comes into operation on 21 August 2026.
