What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (B2112 Ditchling Road,
Wivelsfield) (Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following length of road to a speed not exceeding 30 mph:
Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit
Ditchling Road – from the junction with C6 Green Road to the junction with U5991 Church Lane.
The Order commenced 17 November 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the speed restriction will be in place between 17 and 22 August 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C6 Green Road, Wivelsfield
Green) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under
Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Green Road – from the junction with B2112 Ditchling Road to the junction with U5992 Slugwash Lane. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2112 Ditchling Road – B2112 Fox Hill (WSCC) – A272 Fox Hill roundabout (WSCC), Rocky Lane (WSCC), Lewes Road (WSCC) – A272 Lewes Road, Haywards Heath Road – C322 North Common Road – C6 Green Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 17 August 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 17 and 22 August depending upon the weather conditions.
