What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS

ON BLANCHE LANE, SOUTH MIMMS) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Blanche Lane, South Mimms from its junction with the Earls Lane roundabout north eastwards to its junction with New Road, a distance of approximately 335m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Earls Lane, Mimms Lane, Harris Lane, B5378 (London Road/Black Lion Hill/Shelleybury/Black Lion Hill/London Road), London Road, Silver Hill, High Canons, Well End Road, Rowley Lane, Holmshill Lane, Summerswood Lane, Crossoaks Lane and Blanche Lane.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Road, whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 1 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
