THE A616 TRUNK ROAD (LANGSETT)
(PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026

National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) hereby gives notice that it intends to make an Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 122a of, and paragraph 27(1) of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on the A616 Trunk Road at Langsett in the County of South Yorkshire.

The effect of the Order would be to prohibit, with exemptions, any vehicle from waiting, at any time on any day, on –

a) the A616 eastbound carriageway from a point 151 metres west of the centreline of Gilbert Hill Junction to a point 178 metres east of the centreline of Gilbert Hill Junction, a distance of 329 metres; and

b) the A616 westbound carriageway from a point 7 metres west of the centreline of Midhope Cliff Lane Junction to a point 389 metres west of the centreline of Midhope Cliff Lane Junction, a distance of 382 metres.

A copy of the proposed Order, a plan illustrating the proposal and a statement explaining National Highways Limited reasons for proposing to make this Order, may be inspected during normal opening hours at Penistone Library, High Street, Penistone, Sheffield S36 6BR or obtained by emailing orders-leeds@nationalhighways.co.uk

Any person wishing to object or make representations to the proposed Order should email a statement of their objection to Sujad.Hussain@nationalhighways.co.uk. The objection should quote the above title and must be received not later than Monday 7 September 2026. Information provided in response to this consultation, including personal information, may be subject to publication or disclosure in accordance with the access to information regimes (these are primarily the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA), the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA) and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004).
