What is happening?

BOROUGH COUNCIL OF CALDERDALE

(DRAPER LANE, EDGE HEY ROAD, SMITHWELL LANE
AND WIDDOP ROAD, SLACK)
(HEBDEN BRIDGE) ORDER 20**
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Borough Council of Calderdale in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 proposes to make the above Order, the effects of which will be as follows:

30 mph speed limit on: -

•  Draper Lane – from its junction with Smithwell Lane for a distance of 39m in a north easterly direction.

•  Edge Hey Road – from its junction with Widdop Road for a distance of 167m in a westerley direction.

•  Smithwell Lane – from a point 170m south east of its junction with Green Lane to its junction with Edge Hey Road.

•  Widdop Road – from its junction with Smithwell Lane for a distance of 35m in a north westerly direction. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order, including the statement of reasons for proposing it and plans showing the affected roads, are available for inspection at Halifax Central Library, Halifax, HX1 1QG, from 10.00 am to 5.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays and 10.00 am to 4.00 pm on Saturdays.

If you wish to object to or make a representation to any part of the proposed Order, you must send the grounds for your objection or support in writing to reach the Council by no later than 5th September 2026 to either proposedtro@ calderdale.gov.uk  or to Highways and Transportation, C/O the Town Hall, Crossley Street, Halifax, HX1 1UJ for the attention of the Highways Traffic Team. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
