HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WILLIAN ROAD, HITCHIN) ORDER NO. 2 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Willian Road, Hitchin from its junction with Queenswood Drive north eastwards for a distance of approximately 206m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Willian Road, A505 Cambridge Road/Hitchin Road), Letchworth Lane and Willian Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 1 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WHITEHORSE LANE, GREAT ASHBY) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Whitehorse Lane, Great Ashby from its junction with the Great Ashby Way roundabout south westwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 210m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Great Ashby Way and Whitehorse Lane.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 31 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BAINES LANE, KNEBWORTH) ORDER NO. 2 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Baines Lane, Knebworth from its junction with Swangleys Lane south westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 195m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Swangleys Lane, B197 London Road, New Road, Hollybush Lane and Baines Lane.
The Order is needed because tree cutting and utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 20 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BRAGBURY LANE, STEVENAGE/DATCHWORTH/KNEBWORTH) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bragbury Lane, Stevenage/Datchworth/Knebworth from its junction with A602 Broadhall Way south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Baines Lane, a distance of approximately 1682m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via A602 Broadhall Way, Hertford Road, Watton Road, C29 (unnamed road), Watton Road, Old Lane, Swangleys Lane and Baines Lane.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 17 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Redhill, Rushden from its junction with The Close south westwards to its junction with Rushden and Wallington Public Footpath No.034, a distance of approximately 99m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Redhill, C10 (unnamed road), The Street, Kits Lane, Wallington Road, B656 (Royston Bypass Interchange with Wallington Road/Royston Road), A507 Clothall Road, C5 (unnamed road) and Redhill.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 19 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bullocks Hill, St Pauls Walden from its junction with B651 Whitwell Road north eastwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 200m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via B651 (Whitwell Road/Hitchin Road), Codicote Road, Whitwell Road, B656 Hitchin Road, Three Houses Lane, Rustling Lane, C29 (unnamed road) and Bullocks Hill.
The Order is needed because water connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 17 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Back Lane, Preston from its junction with Preston Hill Farm Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 160m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Crunnells Green, School Lane, Church Lane and Back Lane.
The Order is needed because development works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Weston Way, Baldock from its junction with Willian Way south eastwards for a distance of approximately 39m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Weston Way, B656 Hitchin Street, B197 (High Street/London Road) and Weston Way.
The Order is needed because water connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 20 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 7 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
