TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990
The Secretary of State gives notice of an Order made under Section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping up of Highways (North East) (No.11) Order 2026” authorising the stopping up of an irregular shaped western and eastern part width of Penzance Road and an irregular shaped western and eastern part width of Perivale Road comprising its highway verge at their junctions with Presthope Road at Pennywell, in the City of Sunderland. This is to enable development as permitted by Sunderland Council under reference 25/00057/FUL.
Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State, Transport Infrastructure Planning Casework Unit, PO Box 1393, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE99 5FQ or nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk (quoting SUO8361609). They may also be inspected during normal opening hours at Sunderland City Council, City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland, SR1 3AA.
Any person who wishes to challenge the validity of the decision to make the Order may apply to the High Court within 6 weeks from 13 August 2026.
