Salford City - Multiple Road Traffic Notices
What is happening?
Notice is hereby given that on 11th August 2026 Salford City Council made the following Orders under Sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Orders, is to introduce on an experimental basis for a period of up to 18 months the following: CITY OF SALFORD (MONTON GREEN PRIMARY SCHOOL) (EXPERIMENTAL) (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING DURING SCHOOL TERM TIME EXCEPT CYCLES AND PERMIT HOLDERS) ORDER 2026
PROHIBITION OF DRIVING 8.30AM-9.15AM AND 2.45PM-3.45PM MONDAY-FRIDAY DURING SCHOOL TERM TIME: Burlington Road, for its entire length. Park Road, from its junction with Hawthorn Avenue to its cul-de-sac end. Pine Grove, for its entire length. Poplar Road, for its entire length.
PERMITS available for residents of Burlington Road (Nos. 1-12), Park Road (Nos. 4-26 (even numbers only) and 45-59 (odd numbers only)), Pine Grove (Nos. 2-75), Poplar Road (Nos. 1-8 and 11), Quaker Lane (Nos. 2 and 4) and Hawthorn Avenue (No. 1).
CITY OF SALFORD (PARK ROAD, HAWTHORN AVENUE, PARK DRIVE AND GRANGE DRIVE, ECCLES) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) (EXPERIMENTAL) ORDER 2026
NO WAITING AT ANY TIME: Park Road, (i) north side, from the 43-45 Park Road property boundary for 9m easterly, (ii) south side, from the south eastern extended kerbline of Hawthorn Avenue to 5m east of the eastern extended kerbline of Quaker Lane, (iii) south west side, from the north western extended kerbline of Hawthorn Avenue for 10m north westerly. Hawthorn Avenue, (i) north west side, from south westerly extended kerbline of Park Road for 12m south westerly,
(ii) south east side, from the south eastern extended kerbline of Park Road for 10m south westerly. Park Drive, both sides, from the north western extended kerbline of Grange Drive for 10m north westerly. Grange Drive,
(i) north west side, from 10m north east of the north eastern extended kerbline of Park Drive to a point 10m south west of the south western extended kerbline of Park Drive,
(ii) north east side, from the north western extended kerbline of Grange Drive for 17m north westerly,
(iii) south east side, from the western extended kerbline of Grange Drive (cul-de-sac end) to 17m north west of the north western extended kerbline of Grange Drive,
(iv) north west side, from the north eastern extended kerbline of Grange Drive for 18m north easterly,
(v) south east side, from the south western extended kerbline of Grange Drive to a point 16m north east of the north eastern extended kerbline of Grange Drive. Grange Drive (cul-de-sac end), both sides, from the south western extended kerbline of Grange Drive for 6m southerly.
CITY OF SALFORD (CHORLTON FOLD, ECCLES) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) (EXPERIMENTAL) ORDER 2026
NO WAITING AT ANY TIME: Chorlton Fold, (i) west, north west and north side, from the north western extended kerbline of Chorlton Brook in a north westerly direction for 5m (to bollards at Chorlton Fold),
(ii) east and south east side, from 13m south east of the south eastern extended kerbline of Wakes Drive in a south easterly then south westerly direction to 7m south west of the south western extended kerbline of Chorlton Fold,
(iii) west and north side, from 9m north west of the extended north western kerbline of Chorlton Fold in a south easterly and then south westerly direction to 7m south west of the south western extended kerbline of Chorlton Fold. Existing restrictions will be suspended for the duration of the Experimental Orders.
The Orders will come into operation on 7th September 2026. Copies of the Orders together with a plan showing the roads to which they relate and a Statement of the Council's Reasons for making the Orders may be inspected at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm.

The Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the Orders should be continued in force indefinitely.
If you wish to object to the indefinite continuation of the Orders, please submit the grounds of your objection in writing to phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or the address below, stating the grounds on which they are made and quoting reference L/JUH/SCC006/01389, no later than 7th March 2026.
If the Order is varied, amended, or modified pursuant to section 10(2) of the 1984 Act, the objection period will be extended to six months from the date that the modification or variation came into force.
Anyone wishing to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may within 6 weeks from 11th August 2026 apply to the High Court for such purpose.
