The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate Scottish Power cable installation works, no person shall: (a) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on any part of: (i) double hedges rd, from the extended south-west kerbline of Gilmerton Rd, south-westwards to the extended north-east kerbline of Kirk Brae; (ii) east Clapperfield, at Double Hedges Rd; (iii) double hedges pk, at Double Hedges Rd; & (iv) robert burns dr, at Double Hedges Rd; & (b) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle at any time on any part of double hedges rd, from the extended south-west kerbline of Gilmerton Rd, south-westwards to the extended north-east kerbline of Kirk Brae. Existing parking restrictions will be suspended on the affected sections of road described in (b). There are no available diversions with respect to the closures of east Clapperfield & double hedges pk, where local access will be maintained. The alternative route for through vehicular traffic in relation to the road closures will be by way of: (i) double hedges rd – Kirk Brae, Liberton Rd, & Gilmerton Rd; & (ii) robert burns drive – Robert Burns Dr, Cumnor Cres, Rutherford Dr & Gilmerton Rd. The Order shall have effect from 18/08/26 to 22/09/26.
