A30 Winchester Road, Kempshott, Basingstoke & Deane - Temporary restrictions due to works
What is happening?
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council has made an order under S.14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to allow works to be carried out on or near the road.
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: that part of A30 Winchester Road between its junction with Hounsome Drive and its junction with Greenkeepers Avenue. (One lane of the dual carriageway will be closed in both directions) (This closure will be in place between Monday 12th October 2026 until Monday 26th August 2026 and in operation between 20:00-06:00).
ROAD TO BE RESTRICTED - To impose a 30-mph temporary speed restriction on the following road: that part of A30 Winchester Road between its junction with Greenkeepers Avenue and continuing to a point 300 metres South of its junction with Hounsome Drive (This restriction will be in place between Monday 17th August 2026 until Friday 25th December 2026 and in operation 24 hours a day).
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: A30 Winchester Road, Winchester Bypass, Spitfire Link, A31, A339, Hackwood Road, Ringway South, Winchester Road.
DURATION OF ORDER: from Monday 17th August 2026 for a period of 6 months or until completion of the works whichever is sooner. (Notwithstanding, it is expected that the closure will be required for no longer than 4 months.
