(NO.1) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.
Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 1st September 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for those dates as stated in the schedule and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

SCHEDULE
EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES
1. U5192, Newby Bridge – From 1st September 2026 for Approx. duration 5 days (Ref: TTRO/W/19514)
From its junction with the A590, extending in a southerly then south easterly direction to its junction with Hazelrigg Lane.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U5192 and the A590.
2. Birks Road, Storrs – From 7th September 2026 for Approx. duration 9 days (Ref: TTRO/W/19486)
From its junction with the A592, extending in a north easterly direction to its junction with the C5029.
Alternative Route: via the C5029 and the A592.
- Stock Ghyll Lane, Ambleside – From 8th September 2026 for Approx. duration 3 days (Ref: TTROW/19945)
From a point approx. 120 metres east of its junction with Stock Ghyll Brow, extending in a south easterly then north easterly direction for a distance of approx. 270 metres.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
- U5341, Leasgill – From 9th September 2026 for Approx. duration 8 days (Ref: TTROW/20019)
From its junction with C5072, extending in a easterly direction to its junction with Harry Brow.
Alternative Route: via the C5071, Woodhouse Lane (C5073), and the C5072.
- Brantfell Road, Bowness-On-Windermere – From 14th September 2026 for Approx. duration 3 days (Ref: TTROW/19764)
From its junction with Belle Isle View, extending in a south easterly direction for a distance of approx. 65 metres.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
