Cumberland - Temporary Road Closures Due To Carriageway Resurfacing Works

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U2181 SCARNESS, C1010 LANGRIGG, U2116 BASSENTHWAITE AND C2030 LOWESWATER) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
- U2I81 Scarness from its junction with the A591, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 2km.
Alternative Route: via Scarness Lane and A591.
Duration: From 1 September 2026 for approx. 2 weeks (Ref: TTROC/18379)
- C2010 Langrigg from its junction with the C2009 extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 1.5km.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C2010, Blencogo, C2046, A595, C2002 and C2009.
Duration: From 14 September 2026 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTROC/18791)
- U2I16 Bassenthwaite from its junction with the U2121 extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 4km.
Alternative Route: via A591 and U2121
Duration: From 14 September 2026 for approx. 5 days, between 0700 and 1900 hours, each day (Ref: TTROC/19577)
- C2030, Loweswater from its junction with the U2I12 extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 1km
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C2030, Mockerkin, A5086, C2027 and B5292.
Duration: From 5 October 2026 for approx. 11 days (Ref: TTROC/18795)

The Order will come into operation on 1 September 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
