Notice of Confirmation of Public Path Diversion and
Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order Town and Country Planning Act 1990, Section 257 Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, Section 53A(2) Dorset Council (Part of Footpath 11, Yetminster)
Public Path Diversion Order 2026

On 17 July 2026 Dorset Council confirmed the above order.

The effect of the order as confirmed will be to divert part of Footpath 11, Yetminster as shown on the order map as follows:

From the current route: The full width of the footpath from the unaffected part of Footpath 11 at ST 59383 10907 generally north and north north east for 135 metres to the unaffected part of Footpath 11 at ST 59397 11033. (No recorded width)

To the new route: From the unaffected part of Footpath 11 at ST 59383 10907 generally east south east for 25 metres to ST 59409 10904 then generally north north east for 30 metres to ST 59412 10930 continuing north north east for 5 metres to ST 59413 10937, then generally north north east for 38 metres to ST 59417 10975 then generally northwest for 65 metres to the unaffected part of Footpath 11 at ST 59397 11033.

Width: 2.1 metres from ST 59383 10907 to ST 59417 10975. 2.5 metres from ST 59417 10975 to ST 59397 11033.

A copy of the order as confirmed and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Reception, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester during normal office hours. Copies are also available on our website at www. dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/row-orders.

The order comes into force on 24 July 2026 but if any person aggrieved by the order desires to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the order. He or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 to the Act.

Temporary Closure of Weston Road, Kington Magna
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders will be prohibited from proceeding along Weston Road, Kington Magna between Common Lane and Old Rectory Farm, a distance of approximately 100 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

It will come into operation on 7 September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 18 September 2026.

This Order will enable Wessex Water Services to carry out sewer repair works.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.
