CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(BRIDLE WAY AND HARLINGTON ROAD, TODDINGTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of

a)  Bridle Way, Toddington from J&K recovery signs to B5120.

b)  Harlington Road, Toddington from Nursery Cottages to Bridle Way.

c)  Harlington Road, Toddington between M1 slip and Limegrove.

This temporary closure is required to enable loop cutting work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from

a)  The closure will be in place from 2200hrs on 7 September to 0500hrs on 8 September

b)  The closure will be in place from 2200hrs on 8 September to 0500hrs on 9 September

c)  The closure is expected to take place from 2200hrs on 9 September to 0500hrs on 10 September

The road will be closed at all times during this period. The alternative route for this closure will be via

a)  Bridle Way - B5120, A5, A5505, B5790, B579, B530 and vice versa.

b) H arlington Road – A5120, A507, A6, A5228, A505, A5505, B530 and vice versa.

c)  Harlington Road – B530, B579, B5790, A5505, A5, B5120 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 7 September 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(LOWER HARPENDEN ROAD, HYDE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Lower Harpenden Road, Hyde at the Bridge over New Airport Way.

This temporary closure is required to enable bridge inspection work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 7 to 11 September between the hours of 0900-1530. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route will be via B653, New Airport Way, London Rd, A1081, B652, B653 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 7 September 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of

a)  Waterlow Road, Dunstable between High St North and Outside number 2.

b)  Victoria Street, Dunstable between Chiltern Road and Waterlow Rd.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway patching work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 9 to 11 September between the hours of 0800-1800. Each closure will be done separately. The alternative route will be via

a)  A505, Chiltern Rd, Victoria St and vice versa.

b)  Union St, Chiltern Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 9 September 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Albion Street, Dunstable outside number 20B.

This temporary closure is required to enable Water Mains Repair work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 8 to 10 September 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Princes St, West St, A505.

The Order will come into operation on 8 September 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Great Northern Road, Dunstable between between A505 and A5183.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway patching work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 24 to 26 August between the hours of 0800-1600. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via A505, A5183, Great Northern Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 24 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Castle Hill Road, Totternhoe between Eaton Bray Road and Castle Close.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway patching work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 26 to 28 August between the hours of 0800-1800. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route will bevia Church Rd, High St, Totternhoe Rd, Eaton Bray Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 26 August 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PART OF FOOTPATH NO. 15)
(HARLINGTON: FOOTPATH NO. 2 AND WESTONING:
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Order made by Central Bedfordshire Council on the 14 February 2025 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of the part of Footpath No. 15, Westoning which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference

(OS GR) TL 0258 3111 to OS GR TL 0264 3109 and Footpath No. 2, Harlington which extends from OS GR TL 0264 3109 to OS GR TL 0331 3057 has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 19 February 2027.

This temporary closure is required to enable site construction works to take place. The closure is expected to continue from 20 August 2026 for a further six months.

There is no alternative route along public rights of way for footpath users while the closure is in operation, however the developer may provide and sign an alternative route within their land.

The Order will continue in force until 19 February 2027 or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
