PROPOSED SPEED REDUCTION MEASURES

WESTBURY AVENUE N22

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Haringey proposes to make the above mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and under Section 23 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, section 90a and 90c of the Highways Act 1980 and the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 to install traffic calming features and introduced a raised zebra crossing on Westbury Avenue N22.

The general effect of the Orders would be: -

1. To revoke approximately 40.5 metres of the existing timed no waiting and no waiting at any time restrictions on both sides of Westbury Avenue N22, from a point 3 metres southwest from the common boundary of No.164/166, heading northeast.

2. To install no waiting at any time restrictions outside No.162 Westbury Avenue (administrative change only to ensure accuracy of our records which will result in no physical changes on site).

The above parking changes are required to facilitate the installation of the proposed raised zebra crossing and associated zig-zag markings on Westbury Avenue N22, on which vehicles would be prohibited from stopping at all times. These will be placed on the carriageway either side of the crossing for up to 17.5 metres in each direction. The centre of the raised zebra crossing will be located outside the common boundary of No.129/231 Westbury Avenue. The raised element at the centre of the crossing will have a maximum height of 100mm, length of 10 metres and will be full width of the carriageway.

As part of these measures, it is also proposed to install a speed hump outside the common boundary of No.103/105 Westbury Avenue N22 which will be full carriageway width, have a length of 3.7 metres and maximum height of 100mm. A minor adjustment will be made to the location of the traffic island outside No.160 Westbury Avenue northwards and the traffic island outside No.166 Westbury Avenue will be removed.

A copy of the proposed Orders, a copy of this notice, a copy of the Council’s statement of reasons for making the proposed Orders and plan(s) showing the locations and effects of the Orders can be viewed via the online consultation portal https://consultation.appyway.com/haringey. Alternatively, an appointment can be made, by emailing traffic.orders@haringey.gov.uk to inspect these documents during normal office hours at the reception desk of Alexandra House, 10 Station Road, Wood Green, N22 7TR. Appointments to inspect the documents will be available until the end of a period of 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made or the Council decides not to make the Orders.
