(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2026

The Council on 5/8/2026 made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of footpath on a 2.2 mile length of Footpath No.7 Hunstanworth parish from its junction with footpath No.9 Hunstanworth parish in a westerly direction to its junction with Footpath No.11 Hunstanworth Parish to enable bridge repair renewal works to be undertaken.

Throughout the period of closure, a diversion will be available to pedestrian traffic from east side of closure from the junction of footpath No.9 Hunstanworth Parish in a southerly direction to the junction of public footpath No.8 Hunstanworth parish then turn right on public footpath No.8 until the UNC 16.1 road, heading south westwards until to public footpath No.11 Hunstanworth parish and join the junction of public footpath No.7 in Nookton on the west side of the closure, and vice versa.

The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months.

The works commenced under urgent 21-day Temporary Traffic Regulation Notice on 16/7/2026 and now require extending from 6/8/2026 for approximately 6 months. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
