NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION
OF MODIFICATION ORDER
SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND
COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT OF
PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY IN HERTFORDSHIRE
(ALDBURY 71) MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

The above-named Order, made on 6/02/2025, was confirmed without modification by Hertfordshire County Council 30/7/2026.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement by providing a defined, variable width to Aldbury Byway Open to All Traffic 71 running from junction with county road E of Aldbury Common thence NW across Common to Monument Clearing. A copy of the confirmed Order may be seen free of charge at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/rowapps, Front Reception of Hertfordshire County Council, Farnham House, Six Hills Way, Stevenage, SG1 2ST from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm on Monday to Friday and can be bought from Hertfordshire County Council at a cost of £5. A copy of the confirmed Order and Notice may also be seen on Dacorum Borough Council’s website: www.dacorum.gov.uk.

The Order becomes operative as from the date on which it was confirmed, but if a person aggrieved by the Order desires to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, or any regulation made thereunder, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he may, under paragraph 12 of Schedule 15 of the Act within 42 days from 12/8/2026, make application for the purpose of the High Court.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A4251 HIGH STREET, BERKHAMSTED) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A4251 High Street, Berkhamsted from its junction with Water Lane south eastwards to its junction with Church Lane, a distance of approximately 190m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via A4251 (High Street/Gossoms End/High Street/Tring Road), A41 Tring Interchange/unnamed road) and A4251 London Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 31 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (TEMPORARY CLOSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS
ON A4251 (HIGH STREET/GOSSOMS END/HIGH STREET),
BERKHAMSTED) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A4251 (High Street/Gossoms End/High Street), Berkhamsted from its junction with B4506 New Road south eastwards to its junction with A416 Kings Road, a distance of approximately 2030m (“the length of Roads”). An alternative route will be via A4251 (High Street/Tring Road), A41 (Tring Interchange/unnamed road) and A4251 London Road/High Street).

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Roads, whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the length of Roads. The Order will come into effect from 1 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 nights to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the length of Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PARK VIEW ROAD, BERKHAMSTED) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Park View Road, Berkhamsted from its junction with A4251 High Street south westwards for a distance of approximately 67m (“the Road”). An alternative route will be via A4251 High Street, A416 Kings Road, Charles Street and Park View Road. The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 1 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF FENNYCROFT ROAD, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Fennycroft Road, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Rayburn Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 20m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Fennycroft Road, Galley Hill, Howards Drive, Middleknights Hill and Fennycroft Road. The Order is needed because telecom maintenance works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order will come into effect from 18 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BUCKWOOD ROAD, MARKYATE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Buckwood Road, Markyate from a point 34m south west of its junction with High Street south westwards for a distance of approximately 17m (“the Road”). An alternative route will be via Buckwood Road, High Street, A5183 (Dunstable Road/Watling Street), B4540 Lynch Hill, Clayhall Road and Buckwood Road.

The Order is needed because carriageway remedial works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order will come into effect from 14 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road. THE HERTFORDSHIRE (BELSWAINS LANE AND BELMONT ROAD, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD)
(RESTRICTION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (1984 Act) to introduce new waiting restrictions in parts of Belswains Lane and Belmont Road, Hemel Hempstead as specified in the Schedule to this Notice. The Order will come into effect on Friday 14 August 2026.

Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order may be viewed from 12 August 2026 to 23 September 2026 during office hours at Main Reception, Farnham House, Six Hills Way, Stevenage or online at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders by selecting Dacorum and looking at Ref: D00226. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order, or any of its provisions, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the 1984 Act or any Instrument made under it has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date of this Notice, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

SCHEDULE: No waiting at any time – those sections of road listed below and as set out in the Order and scheme plan – Parts of Belswains Lane and Belmont Road.
