THE A46 TRUNK ROAD (NEAR WIDMERPOOL, NOTTINGHAMSHIRE) (SLIP ROADS)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) intends to make an Order on the A46 Trunk Road, near Widmerpool, in the County of Nottinghamshire, to enable sign installation works to be carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to close -
(1) the exit slip road leading from the northbound carriageway of the A46, to its roundabout junction with the A606 and The Fosse, at Widmerpool; and
(2) the exit slip road leading from the southbound carriageway of the A46, to the roundabout described above.
The work will be carried out overnight between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours and is expected to start on Monday 7 September 2026 and continue for eleven nights. The Order will come into force on 31 August 2026.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority, ambulance and vehicles being used in connection with the works or for winter maintenance purposes will be exempt from the closures.
Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the A46 will be signed.
