THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM
(WAITING, LOADING AND PARKING RESTRICTIONS) (MERRIELANDS CRESCENT, DAGENHAM) AMENDMENT NO. 168 ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham in exercise of its powers under 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 and Parts I to IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended (hereinafter called “the Act”) and all other enabling legislation and powers and after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis in accordance with Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Act made the above Order, the effect of which will be to:
- Introduce ‘Payment Parking (TC2) 6am-9pm Max stay 4hrs No return within 2hrs’ bays, replacing ‘No waiting at any time’ and ‘No Loading Mon-Fri 8am-9.30am and 4.30pm-6.30pm’ restrictions, at the following locations:
a. Merrielands Crescent, south side, from a point 24.5 metres west of its junction with Drovers Road for 34.5 metres in a westerly direction.
b. Merrielands Crescent, south side, from a point 25.5 metres east of its junction with Drovers Road for 22 metres in an easterly direction.
- Introduce ‘Loading only 8am-9pm 1hr No return within 2hrs’ bays, replacing ‘No waiting at any time’ and ‘No Loading Mon-Fri 8am-9.30am and 4.30pm-6.30pm’ restrictions, at the following locations:
a. Merrielands Crescent, south side, from a point 59 metres west of its junction with Drovers Road for 18.5 metres in a westerly direction.
b. Merrielands Crescent, south side, from a point 47.5 metres east of its junction with Drovers Road for 20.8 metres in an easterly direction.
- Revoke ‘No waiting at any time’ and ‘No Loading Mon-Fri 8am-9.30am and 4.30pm-6.30pm’ restrictions, at the following locations:
a. Merrielands Crescent, south side, from a point 21.7 metres west of its junction with Drovers Road for 56.6 metres in an easterly direction.
- Introduce ‘No waiting at any time’ and ‘No Loading Mon-Fri 8am-9.30am and 4.30pm-6.30pm’ restrictions, at the following locations:
a. Merrielands Crescent, south side, from a point 24.5 metres west of its junction with Drovers Road to a point 25.5 metres east of its junction with Drovers Road.
b. Drovers Road, both sides, from its junction with Merrielands Crescent for 5.7 metres in a southerly direction.
- A copy of the Order, which will come into force on 19 August 2026 and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Order are available to view for a period of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made on the Councils website by visiting the following webpage https://www.lbbd.gov.uk/parking/parking-area and selecting ‘New and proposed traffic and parking schemes’ or available for inspection at the Adult Library, First Floor, Barking Learning Centre, Barking between the hours of 9.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
- Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers of the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or any Regulations under it have not been complied with may do so within six weeks of the made date of the Order by applying to the High Court.
