BUS PRIORITY – PRINCE REGENT LANE PHASE 2 – GARAGE ACCESS RELOCATION

The Newham (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. ) Order 202

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Newham (the Council) proposes to make the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Orders would be to:

   a) designate a new loading bay operating ‘at any time’ in the unnamed access road to the rear of Nos. 277 and 279 Prince Regent Lane. The loading bay would be for goods vehicles only to load and unload for up to 2 hours with no return within 1 hour;

   b) introduce waiting and loading restrictions operating ‘at any time’ (double yellow lines and double kerb blips) in the unnamed access road to Newham Leisure Centre (so much as is public highway) including the unnamed access road to the rear of Nos. 277 and 279 Prince Regent Lane; and

   c) introduce loading restrictions operating ‘at any time’ (double kerb blips) on both sides of Prince Regent Lane (from the common boundary of Nos. 277 and 279 to the southern kerb-line of the unnamed access road to Newham Leisure Centre).

3. NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the Council proposes to remove the existing pedestrian crossing outside No. 279 Prince Regent Lane and install a new toucan crossing approximately five metres south of the existing crossing.

Documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposed Orders and other measures can be made available during normal office hours on Monday to Friday by telephoning 020 3373 6415, by emailing traffic.orders@newham.gov.uk, or inspected (by prior appointment - please telephone the above number) at Newham Dockside, 1000 Dockside Road E16 2QU, until six weeks after the date on which the Orders are made or until the proposed Orders are withdrawn, as appropriate.
6. All objections and other representations relating to the proposed Orders and other measures must be made in writing and received by 2 September 2026. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made. They should be sent to the Director of Highways, Parking and Transportation, London Borough of Newham, 3rd Floor West, Newham Dockside, 1000 Dockside Road, London, E16 2QU or by email to traffic.orders@newham.gov.uk.
