What is happening?

Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984) and Regulation 3 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Procedure Regulations 1992 (SI 1992/1215)

SHE/436A (Prohibition of Pedestrians) Order 2026 (“the Order”)

EXTENSION

1. Sheffield City Council (Council) gives notice that the Secretary of State has granted an Extension to the Order made in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 over an area of the highway being SHE/436A from Loxley Road to SHE/436B.
2. The Extension to the Order was granted because of the likelihood of danger to the public and because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the said highway.
3. The Order made on 29 May 2025 was approved by the Secretary of State and an extension to the Order will continue in effect until 29 October 2027 or until completion of works, whichever is earlier.
4. While the Order is in operation: it will prohibit any pedestrian from travelling in the length of footpath as described in paragraph 1 to the Order.
5. Access to adjacent properties will be maintained at all times.
6. The alternative route for the traffic affected by this Order will be via Loxley Road and SHE/436B.
7. A copy of the draft Order may be viewed on request by contacting the Council via

highways@sheffield.gov.uk.
