Henfold Lane (D301) Beare Green Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 7 August 2026, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Henfold Lane (D301) Beare Green as extends from its junction with Ewood Lane (X67920) to the access for “Mulberry House”.
Alternative route – Henfold Lane, Parkgate Road, Broad Lane, Shellwood Road, Leigh Road, Brockhamhurst Road, Red Lane and Blackbrook Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable SES Water to facilitate a new connection and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 24 August 2026 for 5 days between the hours of 8.00am and 4.30pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Church Road (D341) Horley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 12 August 2026 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Church Road (D341) Horley as extends from its junction with (A23) Brighton Road to its junction with (X9373) Astor Gardens. Alternative Routes – (1) Brighton Road; Massetts Road; and (2) Church Road and Brighton Road; Victoria Road; and Church Road. This 12-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 25 August 2026 is required to facilitate mains electrical asset works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of UK Power Networks within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 4 days between the hours of 8am and 6pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents with then closure area, the emergency services, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times via operatives on site. All other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.

Abinger Lane (C43) Abinger Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order No. 3 2026
On 12 August 2026 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Abinger Lane (C43) Abinger as extends from a point in line with the common boundary between the properties known as “Furzen Wood” and “Furzen Lodge” to its junction with Public Footpath No. 18, Abinger; and (b) suspend “The Surrey County Council Abinger Lane (C43) Abinger Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026” in so far as it affects that length of road specified in part (a) above. Alternative Route – Abinger Lane; Leith Hill Road; Etherley Hill; Ockley Road; Holmbury Lane; Miles Hill; Horsham Road; Felday Road; A25 Guildford Road; Raikes Lane; and Abinger Lane or this same route in reverse. This 12-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 24 August 2026 is required to facilitate tree surgery works and/or overhead cabling works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of BT Openreach within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 3 days between the hours of 8am and 6pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure and suspension will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents with then closure area, the emergency services, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times via marshals on site. All other traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.

Ockley Road (B2127) Forest Green/Ewhurst Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 12 August 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Ockley Road (B2127) Forest Green/Ewhurst which extends from its junction with Lyefield Lane to its junction with The Street and any parts thereof. This Order is required to enable UKPN to carry out electrical works and/or tree removal works, which is anticipated to be completed within 5 days between 8am and 6am, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 17 August 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary restrictions, which will be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. Alternative Route – B2127 The Street, B2127 Cranleigh Road, B2127 Brookhurst Road, B2127 Ewhurst Road, B2128 Horsham Road, B2128 Church Street, A281 Guildford Road, A29 Bagnor Road, A29 Stane Street, B2126 Forest Green Road, B2126 Ockley Road and vice versa.

Langshott (D336) Horley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 12 August 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Langshott (D336) Horley which extends from its junction with the un-named access road leading to “Timberlane” northwards to the property boundary line between “Timberlane” and “Woodbrook House”. This Order is required to enable Thames Water to carry out valve replacement works and/or water works, which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day between 9am and 9pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 18 August 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary restrictions will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Due to the nature of the works it will not be possible to maintain access for emergency service vehicles through the closure, however access will be maintained up to the closure. Access to premises within the affected length of road will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. There is no diversion route possible for this road closure.

Station Road (B2032) Betchworth Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Station Road (B2032) Betchworth as extends from its junction with its roundabout with (A25) Reigate Road to its junction with (X68610) The Quarry. Alternative Route: (1) (B2032) Station Road, (B2032) Pebble Hill Road, (B2032) Dorking Road, (A217) Brighton Road, (A217) Reigate Hill, (A217) London Road, (A25) Castlefield Road, (A25) Church Street, (A25) High Street, (A25) West Street, (A25) Buckland Road, (A25) Reigate Road; (2) (A25) Reigate Road, (A25) Buckland Road, (A25) West Street, (A25) London Road, (A217) London Road, (A217) Reigate Hill, (A217) Brighton Road, (B2032) Dorking Road, (B2032) Pebble Hill, and (B2032) Station Road. This Order is required to facilitate telecom cabling works for, or on behalf of CX Telecoms. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 12 nights, between the hours of 8pm and 6am, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 07 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

Warren Road (D1002) Banstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the following lengths of Warren Road (D1002) Banstead (a) as extends from its junction with (D1004) Nork Way to its junction with (D1002) Burns Drive. Alternative Route – Nork Road; Roundwood Way; and Warren Road or this same route in reverse; and (b) as extends from its junction with (D1002) Geralds Grove to its junction with (D1002) The Driftway. Alternative Routes – (1) Warren Road; A2022 Fir Tree Road; Nork way Hill; (2) Warren Road; Nork Way; A240 Reigate Road; A2022 Fir Tree Road; and Warren Road or these same route in reverse. This 12-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 29 August 2026 is required to facilitate mains gas replacement works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of SGN within the lengths of road described in this notice. The works in part (a) are anticipated to commence on 29 August 2026 and be carried out over 3 weeks between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The works in part (b) are anticipated to commence on 28 September 2026 and be carried out over 16 days between the hours of 8am and 4pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, including residents and the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/ or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.

Plaistow Street (B2028), Newchapel Road (B2028) and Godstone Road (B2029) Lingfield Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of (a) the entire length of Plaistow Street (B2028) Lingfield; (b) Godstone Road (B2029) Lingfield as extends from its junction at the roundabout with (B2028) Plaistow Street and (B2028) Newchapel Road to its junction with the entrance access to the Shell Garage at No.1 Godstone Road; (c) Newchapel Road (B2028) Lingfield as extends from its junction at the roundabout with (B2028) Plaistow Street and (B2029) Godstone Road to its junction with the exit from the Shell Garage at No.1 Godstone Road; and (d) the entire length of the carriageway contained within the mini roundabout at the junction of (B2028) Plaistow Street, (B2028) Newchapel Road and (B2029) Godstone Road. Alternative routes – (1) Vicarage Road; Church Road; and High Street; (2) Vicarage Road; Church Road; High Street; East Grinstead Road; Felcourt Road; Lingfield Road; A22 London Road/Woodcock Hill/Eastbourne Road; and Newchapel Road; (3) Godstone Road; Ray Lane; The Common; A22 Eastbourne Road; and Newchapel Road; (4) Godstone Road; Ray Lane; The Common; A22 Eastbourne Road/Woodcock Hill/London Road; Lingfield Road; Felcourt Road; and East Grinstead Road; (5) Newchapel Road; A22 Eastbourne Road; The Common; Ray Lane; and Godstone Road; (6) Newchapel Road; A22 Eastbourne Road/Woodcock Hill/London Road; Lingfield Road; Felcourt Road; and East Grinstead Road; (7) East Grinstead Road; Felcourt Road; Lingfield Road; A22 London Road/ Woodcock Hill/Eastbourne Road; and Newchapel Road; (8) East Grinstead Road; Felcourt Road; Lingfield Road; A22 London Road; The Common; Ray Lane; and Godstone Road. This Order, which will commence on 31 August 2026 for a period of 18 months is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the said roads, to be carried out by or on behalf of Surrey County Council, including but not limited to: highways improvement and/ or kerb buildout works and/or Puffin Crossing installation works and/ or carriageway resurfacing works and/or any other associated works. Works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over and will not take the full duration of this Order. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closures will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access for residents and businesses and emergency service vehicles will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion routes.

D395 Tilburstow Hill Road, South Godstone Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and (7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:- 1. Prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D395 Tilburstow Hill Road, South Godstone that is crossed by the “Tilburstow Hill Road Railway Bridge” and for a distance of 20m either side. 2. Suspend the “Surrey County Council Tilburstow Hill Road (D395) South Godstone Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026” in its entirety. This Traffic Order is required to enable Centurion/Network Rail to carry out examinations and/or maintenance to the railway bridge. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 10pm and 6am, within 1 night of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 07 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, businesses, pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists, equestrians will be maintained at all times. The vehicular diversion route will be via D395 Tilburstow Hill Road, B2236 Eastbourne Road, A22 Eastbourne Road and D395 Tilburstow Hill Road.

(Various Roads in the Borough of Reigate & Banstead and the District of Tandridge) Skyline London to Brighton Cycle Ride (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order, pursuant to Sections 16A and 16B of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport, which will take effect on 13 September 2026 for one day only, the effect of which will be to prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding along the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice or any parts thereof. Such restriction shall also apply in relation to the riding, leading, or driving of horses or any other animals. The Order is required to facilitate the holding on-road cycling event namely the “Skyline London to Brighton Cycle Ride”. The restrictions specified above will not apply to such vehicles being used in connection with the said event (including those used for traffic management purposes), or to anything done on the direction of, or with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a traffic marshal, or any sign placed by Surrey police. Emergency access will be maintained for the police, fire brigade and ambulance services and for organisations responsible for dealing with the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, water, or electronic communications, to premises in the area and for the removal of any obstruction to traffic. All parking places in the lengths of road specified in the Schedule below will be suspended. Vehicular access for residents will be unaffected. The prohibitions herein will only be operative while the relevant traffic signs are displayed and it is anticipated that the temporary restrictions will take effect from 5.30am until 2:30pm, though roads will re-open when it is safe and practical to do so. The Council are also satisfied, in accordance with subsection (3) of Section 16A of the Act that the even to which the Order relates cannot be held otherwise than on a road. C80 Moorhouse Road, Westerham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of C80 Moorhouse Road, Westerham that extends from the access road for “No.15-16 Moorhouse Cottages”, for a distance of 100m in both directions. This Traffic Order is required to enable BT Openreach to carry out telegraph pole replacement and/or cabling and/or connection and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 5pm within 2 days of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 08 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, businesses, emergency services, pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Alternative route:- Moorhouse Road, Kent Hatch Road, Westerham Road and Moorhouse Road.

D1169 Taynton Drive, Merstham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D1169 Taynton Drive, Merstham, Redhill which extends from its junction with Sutton Gardens to the eastern property boundary of No. 2 Taynton Drive. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out carriageway dressing/pre-patching works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 1 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Alternative Route – Taynton Drive, Sunstone Grove, Worsted Green, Bletchingley Road, Weldon Way, Sutton Gardens and Taynton Drive.

Battlebridge Lane (C225) Merstham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Battlebridge Lane (C225) Merstham which comprises the railway bridge known as “East Battlebridge Lane Railway” (Identifier: C225/940) and 20m either side. This Order is required to enable Network Rail to carry out bridge examination works, which is anticipated to be completed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, during the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 1 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary restrictions will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained at all times. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be marshalled through.

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles, including cyclists, from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out carriageway dressing/pre-patching works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 3 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Court Road (D1085) Banstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Court Road (D1085) Banstead which extends from its junction with Courtlands Crescent to its junction with De Burgh Park. This Order is required to enable BT to facilitate access to underground structure and/or carry out cabling works, which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 9.30am and 2.30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 2 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary restrictions will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists. Alternative Route – Court Road, Bolters Lane, High Street and Avenue Road.

Footpath No. 72 (Abinger) Public Path Diversion Order 2026
On 4 August 2026, Surrey County Council confirmed the above Order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert Footpath 72 (Abinger) running from O.S.Grid Ref. 512453 138979 in a north westerly turning to westerly direction for 268 metres to O.S. Grid Ref. 152222 139123, to a line running from the same point in a west north westerly direction for 226 metres to O.S.Grid Ref. 512235 139068 turning to a northerly direction for 56 metres to O.S. Grid Ref.152222 139123, as shown on the order map.

The Order came into force on 11 August 2026 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highway Act 1980 as amended or on the ground that any requirement of the Act as amended or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order he or she may under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act within six weeks from 13 August 2026 make an application to the High Court.

Public Bridleway 84 (Woldingham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 20 August 2026 Surrey County Council will make the abovementioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along Public Bridleway 84 Woldingham from grid ref: 535739 157116 heading southeast to grid ref: 536075 157050.
The Order is necessary in the interest of public safety due to works being undertaken on or near the highway. The closure will be in operation for a period of one month from 24 August 2026 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route for horses and cyclists from grid ref: 535739 157116 will be to cross the road, then follow Public Bridleway 159 (Woldingham) northeast for 342 metres. Then join Halliloo Valley Road and continue northeast for 283 metres to Public Bridleway 157 (Woldingham). Follow the bridleway south for 302 metres then west for 110 metres to Hilltop Walk. Follow Hilltop Walk south, then southwest then north then west to grid ref: 536075 157050.
The alternative route for pedestrians from grid ref: 535739 157116 will be to cross the road and follow Public Bridleway 159 (Woldingham) northeast for 482 metres to Public Footpath 42 (Woldingham). Head south on the footpath for 230 metres to Beulah Walk. Head southwest on Beulah Walk then follow Hilltop Walk west to grid ref: 536075 157050.
The Surrey County Council temporary prohibition of traffic order 2026 will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
