(Footpath 17, East Hanningfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026

Further to notice: Under section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), which commenced on 28 July 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 17, East Hanningfield in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Footpath 18, southwest for approximately 630 metres to its junction with B1245 Southend Road.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 18 August 2026 to 18 February 2027, weather permitting, or where appropriate signs are showing and is required for the safety of the public whilst the site of a fire and explosion is made safe.

The Order will come into effect 18 August 2026 and may continue in force for 6 months, or until the site has been made safe, whichever is the earlier

(Domsey Lane, Little Waltham/Chelmsford Garden) (Various Special Events) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order: To temporarily introduce prohibition of traffic on Domsey Lane, Little Waltham/Chelmsford Garden, in the City of Chelmsford, this road will be Access Only.

Diversion route: Pratts Farm Lane, A131, Main Road, Boreham Road and vice versa.

The restriction is scheduled to commence on 22 August 2026 to 30 August 2026 the hours of 00:01 to 23:59 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. This is required for the safety of the public while various special events take place at Wheelers Hill.

The Orders will come into effect on 22 August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the Events have finished 22 August – Back to the 80s, 29 August – Summer Solstice, 30 August – R & B Lovers.

(Byway 25, Great Waltham) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Byway 25, Great Waltham in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Ringtail Green south to its junction with Penden Hill for approximately 2155 metres.

Diversion will be via: Ringtail Green, Pleshey Road, Ford End Road, Pleshey Road, Penden Hill and vice versa.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 17 August 2026 to 17 November 2026 where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public, while surface improvement works are undertaken.

The Order will come into effect on 17 August 2026 may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Spring Elms Lane, Little Baddow) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Spring Elms Lane, Little Baddow in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 760m north west then south west of its junction with Common Lane for a distance of approximately 150m in a south westerly then north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th September 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN013352018 – Essex and Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new conection works are undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water.

An alternative route is available via Spring Elms Lane, The Ridge, Little Baddow Road, A414, London Road, Old London Road, Herbage Park Road, Church Hill, Little Baddow Road, Spring Elms Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 20th August 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, City of Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) & (Main Road, Broomfield/Broomfield Road, Chelmsford) (Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) (No.8) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the City of Chelmsford as specified in the schedule to this Order.

2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway as per schedule for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

3. To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction on that length of Main Road, Broomfield/Broomfield Road, Chelmsford, from the junction with Valley Bridge to the junction with Hospital Approach as detailed in the “The Borough Council Of Chelmsford (Little Waltham, Broomfield And Chelmsford) (Prohibition Of Heavy Commercial Vehicles Of Over 7.5 Tonnes Maximum Gross Weight) Order 1997” for the duration of the closures only.

“The Essex County Council (Chelmsford City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 20th August 2026, exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the City of Chelmsford as specified in the schedule to this Order.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of West Hanningfield Road, Galleywood in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 180m south east then south west of its junction with Great Sir Hughes Lane for a distance of approximately 100m in a south westerly direction. (Brook Lane & Pipers Tye, Galleywood) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Brook Lane & Pipers Tye, Galleywood in the City of Chelmsford, from the junction with Watchouse Road to the junction with Vicarage Lane a distance of approximately 980m.

2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.

The Essex County Council (Chelmsford City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Colam Lane, Little Baddow in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Holybread Lane to its junction with North Hill a distance of approximately 1325m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th August 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2408952 – Essex County Council).
