This Order is being introduced because of new gas service connection works which are anticipated to be completed 26 August 2026. This is a 24 hour daily road closure. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the whole length of Chalk Hill from junction Aston Street to Blewbury Hill. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. Access will be maintained for cyclists and pedestrians. The alternative route for traffic is via Blewbury Hill, Bessels Way, Hagbourne Road, Thorp Street, Fullers Road, Baker Street and vice versa. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in High Street from the A415 to the Barley Mow PH. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via High Street, A415, Tollgate Road, Appleford Road, B4016, Sires Hill, Didcot Road, High Street and vice versa.
