(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Dundonald Road, Cheadle Hulme - No Diversion.
High Grove Road, Cheadle - From Gatley Road to House 4 No. 55. Diversion via Broadway, Wilmslow Road, Gately Road, Broad way and vice versa. Glendene Avenue, Bramhall - Full Length. No Diversion. Heath Road, Cale Green - Beech Road to Heath Crescent. Diversion via Heath Crescent, Bramhall Lane, Beech Road and vice versa. Dysart Street, Great Moor - From Buxton Road to House No 35. No Diversion.
Chiltern Close, Hazel Grove - Full Length. No Diversion. Didsbury Road, Heatons South - From Burnage Lane to Harwood Road. Diversion via Didsbury Road, Pyramid Roundabout, Hollywood Way, Brinksway, Stockport Road, Manchester Road, Wilmslow Road, Kingsway, Parrs Wood Lane and vice versa. Mauldeth Road, Burnage Lane, Lane End Road, Kingsway, Parrs Wood Lane and vice versa. Lower Bents Lane, Bredbury - From Elm Street to Stockport Road West/East (one way only, vehicles heading East towards Berrycroft Lane). Eastbound Diversion via Stockport Road East, George Lane, Berrycroft Lane, Higher Bents Lane, Lower Bents Lane and vice versa.
Councillor Lane, Cheadle - between Meadowbank Primary School and Stockport Road. Diversion via Stockport Road, Wilmslow Road, Cheadle Road, Albert Road, Ladybridge Road, Councillor Lane and vice versa. Church Lane, Marple - From Brindley Avenue to Hibbert Lane (one way only). Diversion via Stockport Road, Hibbert Lane, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said roads.
This Order is necessary to allow road repair works to take place. It is estimated these works will last up to 3 weeks.
This Order is to come into operation on 21 August 2026 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Ref: JO/18234135/12
