Bishop’s Bridge Road - Multiple Traffic Notices

BISHOP’S BRIDGE ROAD, CLEVELAND TERRACE AND EASTBOURNE TERRACE THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (B ZONE) (AMENDMENT NO. *) ORDER 202*

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council proposes to make the above Order under sections 6, 45, 46, 49, 63 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order would be to: (a) on Bishop’s Bridge Road: (i) the south-east side, on Bishop’s Bridge (over the railway lines entering Paddington Station), replace the redundant bus stop clearways (Bus Stops J and K) with double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions (19.1 metres and 25.1 metres respectively); and (ii) the north-west side, adjacent to No.149 Harrow Road, replace 5.5 metres of double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions by extending a bus stop clearway (Bus Stop T) to 30 metres; (b) on Cleveland Terrace, the south-east side: (i) adjacent to No. 10 Eastbourne Terrace, introduce a dockless e-bike / e-scooter parking place (26 metres), replacing a redundant bus stand (Bus Stand L); and (ii) adjacent to No. 106 Westbourne Terrace, remove a dockless e-bike / e-scooter parking place and replace with double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions (9 metres); and (c) on Eastbourne Terrace, the north-east side: (i) opposite No. 30, extend the bus stop clearway (Bus Stop E) north-westward by 4 metres, reducing the length of the zig-zag markings on the exit from pedestrian crossing outside No. 20, and south-eastward by 26 metres, replacing a motorcycle parking place, for an overall clearway length of 71 metres; (ii) opposite the junction with Chilworth Street, relocate the motorcycle parking place mentioned in sub-paragraph 2(c)(i) above south-eastward by 25.5 metres and shorten it by 5.9 metres at its south-eastern end, replacing four pay-by-phone parking bays; and (iii) opposite Premier Inn London Paddington, No. 40, introduce a 15-metre dockless e-bike / e-scooter parking place, replacing double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions.

3. FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council, in accordance with the provisions of section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, intends to amend the zig-zag markings of the pedestrian crossing on Eastbourne Terrace, opposite No. 30. The zig-zag markings on the north-east side of the south-eastbound exit would be shortened by 4 metres to facilitate the extension to a bus stop clearway (Bus Stop E).

4. The proposed Order and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection until six weeks have elapsed from the date on whicheither the Order is made or the Council decides not to make the Order at https:// westminstertransportationservices.co.uk/notices and, in person by appointment only, at Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 6QP, between 9.00a.m. and 5.00p.m. on Mondays to Fridays (except bank / public holidays). All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
