Cumberland - Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U4127 SEA MILL LANE, ST BEES, C4023 NEAR GOSFORTH AND U4379 WINDERMERE ROAD, WHITEHAVEN)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
- U4127 Sea Mill Lane, St Bees, from a point adjacent to the property known as Lone Fern, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 50m.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
Duration: From 9 September 2026 for approx. 2 days between 0830 and 1630 hours, each day

- C4023 Near Gosforth, from its junction with the entrance to the property known as Greenlands, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 390m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C4023, A595, Gosforth and C4026 Whitecroft.
Duration: From 15 September 2026 for approx. 2 days between 0830 and 1630 hours, each day

- U4379 Windermere Road, Whitehaven, from a point approx. 70 metres south of its junction with Woodhouse Road, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 50m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Windermere Road, Fleswick Avenue and Woodhouse Road.
Duration: From 18 September 2026 for approx. 5 days between 0800 and 1700 hours, each day
