What is happening?

Notice is hereby given that Manchester City Council has made the CITY OF MANCHESTER (CHAPEL STREET, LEVENSHULME) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING, PROHIBITION OF LOADING/UNLOADING AND AMENDMENT) ORDER 2026 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to introduce:

NO WAITING AT ANY TIME:
Access road off north side of Chapel Street between Cardus Street and Rostron Street, both sides from Chapel Street northerly for 9m. Chapel Street, (i) north side from Cardus Street easterly to Rostron Street, (ii) north side from Stockport Road easterly to Cardus Street.

NO LOADING/UNLOADING AT ANY TIME:

Access road off north side of Chapel Street between Cardus Street and Rostron Street, both sides from Chapel Street northerly for 9m. Chapel Street, north side from 34m east of Cardus Street easterly to a point 60m east of Cardus Street.

The Order was made on 10th August 2026 and will come into effect on 17th August 2026. A copy of the Order and the plan can be requested by emailing phlegal@ manchester.gov.uk or inspected at the Customer Service Centre Ground Floor, Town Hall Extension, M60 2LA (for Sat. Nav. use M2 5DB) between the hours of 9am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday. Anyone wishing to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may within 6 weeks from 10th August 2026 apply to the High Court for such purpose.
