What is happening?
Somerset Council Parishes of West Crewkerne, Misterton and Crewkerne Temporary Closure of Cathole Bridge Road
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Cathole Bridge Road - from the junction with Lang Road, south-eastwards for a total distance of 454 metres. This Order will enable VolkerHighways to carry out phased essential earthworks and civils around the level crossing on behalf of Network Rail (as and when signed on site).
The Order becomes effective on 26th August 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 1st September 2026 - 6th September 2026, 5th October 2026 - 8th October 2026 and 26th October 2026 - 30th October 2026 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 (highway to be clear all other times) for a total of 15 days.
