Temporary Prohibition of Use of Footpath UN3 & Footpath 76
(part) Whitchurch Urban (Llangollen Canal)
Shropshire Council has made an order temporarily prohibiting
the use of; Footpath UN3 running from the towpath of the
Llangollen Canal at grid reference SJ 5275 4165 running
in a general north easterly direction to grid reference SJ
5281 4176.
Footpath76 is now open and available.
An extension has been granted by the Secretary of State
allowing the Order to continue to be in force from 12 th August
2026 until the 12 th August 2028 or until the works are
completed whichever is earlier. It is required on the grounds of
public safety due to the breach of the Llangollen Canal.
There is no alternative access available.
