What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(VICTORIA STREET, STAPLEFORD )
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026 (BX26-162)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Borough of Broxtowe.

The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:

a. Victoria Street, Stapleford - From its junction with Derby Road to its junction with Eatons Road.

2. Vehicles are prohibited from Waiting, Loading and Unloading (both sides) (at any time) in the following length of road: 

a. Victoria Street, Stapleford - From a point 10 metres west of its junction with Eatons Road in a westerly direction for a distance of 95 metres.3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 07:00 hours on Monday 24th August 2026
Until 20:00 hours on Friday 25th September 2026 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
B5010 Derby Road - B6003 Toton Lane - Eatons Road and Vice versa

The Order will come into force on 24th August 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable Geda Construction to carry out works to reinstate the bell mouth in the footway to the site entrance and install new services
