HYSBYSIR drwy hyn fod Cyngor Dinas Casnewydd, wrth arfer ei bwerau o dan Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984 (fel y’i diwygiwyd) a’i holl bwerau galluogi eraill, wedi gwneud gorchymyn a fydd yn gwahardd unrhyw gerbyd rhag symud ar hyd y ffordd a nodir yn yr atodlen isod.
Bydd y llwybr amgen ar hyd Cyffordd 24 i 28 yr M4, Ffordd Ddosbarthu Ddwyreiniol yr A4810 a’r B4237 Cardiff Road, Casnewydd.
Y rheswm dros wneud y gorchymyn yw oherwydd gwaith priffyrdd a seilwaith. Er mwyn lleihau’r aflonyddwch, bydd y gwaith yn cael ei wneud gam wrth gam a thros nos.

NEWPORT CITY COUNCIL (A48 SOUTHERN DISTRIBUTOR ROAD, NEWPORT) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that Newport City Council in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and all other enabling powers has made an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the road set out in schedule below.
The alternative route will be via the M4 Junction 24 to 28, A4810 Eastern Distributor Road and B4237 Cardiff Road, Newport.
The reason for making the order is due to highway and infrastructure works. To minimise disruption, the works will be carried out overnight and in phases.
The proposed order will be operative from 15th August 2026 and will continue to be in force for a period of 18 months or until the works have completed whichever is earlier. Emergency access and pedestrian access will remain available.
