TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C698 CHAPEL ROAD, COCKFIELD

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C698 Chapel Road, Cockfield from Howe Lane to Birds Lane to facilitate installation of a fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Great Green, Bradfield Road, Bury Road, Water Lane, the A134, the A1141, Howe Lane and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 11/08/2026 - 17/08/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED RESTRICTION ON PART OF THE B1089 SNAPE ROAD AND U2301 GROVE ROAD, FRISTON AND KNODISHALL

Suffolk County Council has made an order for a temporary 30mph speed restriction on the:

• B1069 Snape Road, Friston from 120 metres southwest of Slow for 380 metres southwestbound, and

• U2301 Grove Road, Knodishall from 367 metres northeast of Church Road for 420 metres north eastbound.

This is to facilitate safety for site access and egress. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

This order continues in force the emergency measures operating since 22/07/2026

It is intended that the closure will operate until 17/12/2027, but if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U5101 Crownland Road, Walsham Le Willows from 150 metres southeast of the junction with Palmer Street for 300 meters south eastbound to facilitate pole replacements. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Crownland Road, Sheepgate Lane, Badwell Green, Badwell Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 20/08/2026 from 10am - 4pm.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be Thurston Road, Pakenham, Pakenham Road, Thurston Road, Great Barton, Barton Road and vice versa.

• A143 Haverhill Road, Little Wratting from Wratting Road to Anne Sucklings Lane.

This is to facilitate installation of a new crossing, power supply, footway reconstruction and carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be the A1307, Westerfield Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from:

• 7pm on 11/08/2026 - 5am on 12/08/2026; and

• 7pm on 27/08/2026 - 5am on 28/08/2026.

• U4113 Church Lane, Harkstead from the junction with the C411 from 4113 to C410 to the side of River House

• C411 The Street, Harkstead from the junction with Church Lane to Shore Lane

• U4112 Ipswich Road, Harkstead from the junction with The Street for 20 metres northbound

• C411 Holbrook Road, Harkstead from Shore Lane, Harkstead for 210 metres north westbound

• C411 Harkstead Road, Lower Holbrook, Holbrook from Footpath 30 for 700 metres north eastbound

• C411 Harkstead Road, Holbrook from New Lane for 603 metres southbound

• C411 Fir Tree Hill, Holbrook from New Lane to Back Hill.

This is to facilitate installation of a fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 11/08/2026 - 26/09/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

NOTICE OF PROPOSED RAISED TABLE ON WRATTING ROAD (A143), HAVERHILL

Suffolk County Council proposes to construct a Raised Table on Wratting Road (A143), Haverhill. The Raised Table will be at a point 59 metres north of the junction with Hill Crescent (U6740) will be 4 metres in length and 100 millimetres high.

A map showing the location of the Raised Table and the council’s reasons for this proposal may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday; also at Haverhill Library, Camps Road, Haverhill CB9 8HB, Monday: 9am - 1pm, Tuesday: 9am - 7pm, Wednesday: 9am - 5pm, Thursday: 9am - 5pm, Friday: 9am - 5pm, Saturday: 9am - 4.30pm and Sunday: 10am - 4pm.
