What is happening?

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

The Secretary of State gives notice of an Order made under Section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping up of Highway (West Midlands)
(No.15) Order 2026” authorising the stopping up of a western part width of A40 comprising of highway verge at Ross-on-Wye, in the District of
Herefordshire.
This is to enable development as permitted by Herefordshire District Council under reference 260034.
Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State, Transport Infrastructure Planning Casework Unit, PO Box 1393, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE99 5FQ or nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk (quoting SUO0830469). They may also be inspected during normal opening hours at Hereford County Council, Plough Lane, Hereford, HR4 0LE.
Any person who wishes to challenge the validity of the decision to make the Order may apply to the High Court within 6 weeks from 12 August 2026.
