THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF KENSINGTON AND CHELSEA 
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE (LONSDALE ROAD) 2026 

The Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea give notice that they intend to make a Temporary Traffic Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Schedule 1 Section 14 (1)(a) and all other enabling powers prohibiting motorised vehicles from proceeding or waiting in roads cited below.

Lonsdale Road western leg footway and carriageway are to be closed from the junction of Colville Road to outside of Colville Primary School.

The road is to be closed to vehicles for crane works.

The restrictions will come into force from 08.00hrs until 18.00hrs on Wednesday 26th August 2026, with a backup date of Thursday 27th August 2026.

There is no diversion possible for vehicular traffic, pedestrians are to be diverted via Colville Road, Westbourne Grove, Portobello Road, Lonsdale Road, or Colville Road, Colville Terrace, Portobello Road, Lonsdale Road, both in either direction.

Access will be maintained for residents and occupiers. Nothing in this Order shall apply to:
• anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police constable in uniform.

• anything done in connection with the execution of said works.
