What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

DOVER AREA

Chapel Lane, Ashley, CT15 5HU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Chapel Lane, Ashley, on or after 19th August 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Harton Bungalow, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Chapel Lane, Roman Road, Little America, Waldershare Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Coldred Hill, Lydden (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow micro surfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Coldred Hill, Lydden, on or after 20th August 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of A2 Dover Road for approximately 35m North of the junction Church Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Coldred Hill, A2 Dover Road, Lydden Hill, Canterbury Road, Church Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Coombe Valley Road, Dover, CT17 0HQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Coombe Valley Road, Dover, on or after 31st August 2026 for up to 19 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Lambton Road and Coombe Close, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Coombe Valley Road, Barwick Road, St Radigunds Road, Bunkers Hill Road, Hillside Road, Crabble Avenue, Crabble Road, A256 Crabble Hill, A256 Buckland Avenue, Cherry Tree Avenue and A256 London Road.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via A256 London Road, A256 Crabble Hill, Crabble Road, Crabble Avenue, Hillside Road, Bunkers Hill Road, St Radigunds Road, Barwick Road and Coombe Valley Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Longmete Road, Preston, CT3 1DP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Longmete Road, Preston, on or after 20th August 2026 for up to 9 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of The Street and Mill Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Mill Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Markland Road, Dover, CT17 9LR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Markland Road, Dover, on or after 1st September 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside number 31 to outside number 33, between the hours of 09:30 and 14:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Markland Road, Reading Road, Elms Vale Road, Church Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Roman Road, Dover (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Roman Road, Dover, on or after 1st September 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Greenacre, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



St Leonards Road, Deal, CT14 9AU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of St Leonards Road, Deal, on or after 2nd September 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 35, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via St Leonards Road, B2056 Manor Road, A258 London Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Warren Lane, Ewell Minnis, CT15 7EB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Warren Lane, Ewell Minnis, on or after 20th August 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Little London, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Warren Lane, Slip Lane, Alkham Valley Road, A260 Alkham Valley Road, A260 Canterbury Road, A260 Spitfire Way, A260 Canterbury Road, Oak Hill, Swanton Lane, Lydden Hill, Canterbury Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Western Road, Deal, CT14 6TS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Western Road, Deal, on or after 18th August 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 77, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Western Road, Golf Road, Harold Road, The Marina, Beach Street, A258 Broad Street, A258 Queen Street, West Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Wootton Lane, Wootton, CT4 6RT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Wootton Lane, Wootton, on or after 20th August 2026 for up to 10 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside St Martins Church to outside Hill Top, between the hours of 09:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Wootton Lane, Denton Lane, Shelvin Lane, A260 Canterbury Road, A260 Old Dover Road, A260 Box Iron Road, A2 Barham Slip Eastbound On, A2 Dover Road and Geddinge Lane.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Geddinge Lane, A2 Dover Road, A2 Barham Westbound Off, A260 Canterbury Road, Shelvin Lane and Wootton Lane.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
